For my November submission, I decided to include a Guided Reading worksheet for my Principles of Technology class. We are starting a new subunit on Voltage in Electrical Systems and normally I would have them read through the text in their book (typically about 10 pages or so) and take their own notes as they read. I decided to give this way a try and 'guide' them through what I feel are the more important pieces of the reading. Some sections require answering a question, some require the student to make a list and/or draw an interpretation, while other sections require nothing more than simply taking some notes on what they are reading. What they need to do is different based on the text and what is most important.
I will make copies of some student work...simply let me know if you would like to see them !!!
Thanks for taking the time to read through this.
UPDATE !!!!!!
I just had a couple of student complete their worksheets on their computers...I e-mailed it to them and they e-mailed it back completed (except for the one question that asked for a drawing). Here are their completed documents (it is in TextEdit, so I hope you can open it!!). I have had some other responses from other students that have submitted their worksheet via e-mail as well. All of the individual work is here:
